Nick has over 7 years of experience working with individuals experiencing a range of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, autism, and life skill needs like managing relationships and independent living. Nick is currently completing a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University and is under the supervision of Cynthia Schoppmann, Registered Psychotherapist. Nick works with youth and adults from diverse backgrounds and aims to create a safe, genuine, and inclusive environment for all seeking support and healing.
Nick’s clinical work largely integrates cognitive behavioural and attachment-based orientations. Through this approach, Nick hopes to gain an understanding of how past and present experiences influence thoughts, emotions, and behaviour. From here, Nick works with clients to build trusting relationships and cooperatively tailor therapy to individual needs and expectations. He also incorporates mindfulness, narrative, experiential, solution-focused, and humanistic therapies into his approach. Nick’s goal is to help people learn tools to manage their issues and needs so they can live the fulfilling and rewarding lifestyle that they deserve.
