Workshops & Mental Health Training

If you’ve taken a physical first aid course; you’ve learned the skills needed to help someone experiencing a sudden illness or injury.
People can also have mental health crisis, and it is important that more Canadians know how to provide help in these situations too.

CJS Psychotherapy & Consulting Services is passionate about mental health and providing individuals and workplaces an opportunity to learn and grow in a safe and welcoming environment.

Cynthia Schoppmann, Registered Psychotherapist has been a workshop facilitator for over 7 years and is a trained instructor for The Working Mind and Mental Health First Aid through the Mental Health Commission of Canada.

Various courses on mental health, resiliency, stress-management, how to support a struggling co-worker, setting boundaries, among other topics, are available in 1hr, 1.5hr or other customized time-frame formats. These are great workshops that workplaces can offer and incorporate as part of a team meeting, team-building session or as part of a wellness lunch-and-learn session. Specific workshops can also be tailored upon request. Please inquire for further information by completing the form found to the left of this page.

Courses are offered both in-person (if it is deemed safe to do so) or virtually (using an online platform such as zoom, Teams or webex) in either English or French.

In-person training consists of two full-days of training or 4 half-days.  There is a minimum requirement of 8 participants and the maximum number of participants is 25.  Each participant will receive a handbook as part of the registration fee.

Virtual training is open to anyone across Canada and consists of three Modules.  Module 1 is a self-directed Module that all participants must complete before attending the live virtual training of Modules 2 and 3.  Upon registering, participants will receive an email confirming their registration and providing them with the access code to complete the self-directed Module.
